Updates and Reminders —
Country Assignments —
Delegates will be assigned countries on an individual basis, rather than by participating school. The Secretariat has taken these measures to encourage delegation cooperation by regional blocs instead of student friendships. In addition, countries will be assigned by Faculty Adviser selection; however, available countries will be selected through foreign policy interests in relation to the topic and ease of research.
Rules of Procedure —
The Centennial High School Middle School Model United Nations Conference will follow a modified rules of procedure, similar to the UNA-USA rules. All delegates are encouraged to read over the Delegate Protocol Guide here. Please note that a knowledge of these are not required for the Novice tier, as the these committees will focus on learning. In Novice tier committees, procedural instruction regarding parliamentary procedure and resolution writing will be presented before debate begins. However, delegates in the Advanced and Expert tier are expected to have a general grasp of procedural debate.
Awards —
Because MiniMUN is a learning Model UN conference, we ensure that the awarding process reflects this. Chairs observe various important skills in delegates and factor these into their decisions.

Awards —
Because MiniMUN is a learning Model UN conference, we ensure that the awarding process reflects this. Chairs observe various important skills in delegates and factor these into their decisions.
- Preparedness: Award-winning delegates submit high-quality position papers in a timely fashion. Their country policy is clearly addressed and relevant historical background information is given in relation to these policies. Their ideas are logical, well-formulated, and concise; their solutions are logistically possible and properly-funded; their syntax is sleek, professional, and grammatically sound. After reading the paper, the Chair can understand precisely where the country's position comes from in relation to the committee’s topic, why the country believes what it does, and what the country will push for in committee.
- Committee Presence: The delegates are cordial in committee and present themselves professionally. They take their roles seriously both inside and outside of committee. They are well-spoken and diplomatic. They display confidence and are leaders in their committee.
- Realism: The delegates know the foreign policy of their countries and pursue those foreign policy aims. They are open to negotiation with other countries, but only within the realms of their foreign policy. They maintain appropriate flexibility with others. In a real-life situation, their behavior and attitude would allow them to function effectively in a United Nations or other parliamentary setting.
